April Capone's Statement on Aili McKeen's Decision Not to Seek Primary in 34th State Senate District

North Haven, CT – State Senate candidate April Capone issued the following statement on Aili McKeen’s decision not to primary this August.

“I learned today that Aili McKeen will not continue to a primary this August. Aili has been a champion for women’s rights, the environment and a strong advocate for labor and I applaud her efforts to advance these causes. I look forward to working with her on these issues, as the party unites to win back the 34th State Senate seat this November.”

The 34th State Senate district covers all of East Haven and Wallingford, most of North Haven and a part of Durham. Capone has called for greater access to absentee ballots by providing postage paid return envelopes to voters, a more equitable healthcare system and emerging from the current COVID-19 pandemic both physically and financially healthy. You can read her press announcement here.

Last month Capone announced her record setting qualifying fundraising for the Citizen’s Election Program. Read about that here.
